| Movie times at Muvico. It was a Sunday in July of 2004 and I wanted to take my
13 year old son to the movies! So I went to the Muvico Theater web site
and purchased 2 tickets. One adult ticket and one child ticket. About 3
hours later we went to the theater and we claimed our tickets through the
terminal out side the theater. We then proceeded into the theater and we
stood in line to have our tickets validated. The person at the
counter asked if I could prove that my son was 12. I was amazed!
There was a line behind us and I did not want to hold the other patrons up
so I told him I would go over to the ticket counter and clear this up.
Upon arriving at the counter I asked for a manager. The person
behind the counter said "They could help me." I told them "I must of
made a mistake when I purchased the tickets as I did not see the age
requirements."( to see that Muvico DOES NOT state the age
requirements on their web site

who is 13 was over their 12 year old age requirement!) He asked "How old my son was" and I said "He is 13" the
manager then said "Well TO BAD the rule is 12 years and under are child
prices!" At this point I was more than pissed off I must say!
I was NOT trying to cheat them out of $1.00 it was an honest mistake.
I then threw my credit card down and told him "Well then put the DAMN
$1.00 on my credit card" (I had not brought any cash with me) He then said
to hang on and called over to someone ABOVE him that came to the counter.
I proceeded to tell him the SAME STORY and he went over to the computer and
REFUND the $11.00 back to my card and then charged it $12.00 for the
corrected price for 2 adult tickets. I then wrote down his
full name as I was going to complain! I then told him "We were going
to buy a couple of large Cokes and Popcorn and a Candy ( about another
$20.00) but since he was such an ass we would skip them! I then also told
him "Even though Muvico is about 2 blocks from my house and I frequent the
theater often that I would drive the extra miles to another theater. He
then gave me the THUMBS UP and gave me a smart ass smile! That was the
STRAW that broke the camels back and made me build this site! |

| MY PROBLEM WITH WHAT
HAPPENED AND HOW WE WERE TREATED! |

| NOW I know I used a few words I should not have BUT the
manager should of handled this situation differently! I made a mistake I
was NOT trying to sneak into the theater or try to get an adult in for a
child price my son is 13 and the age cut off is 12. The manager should
have said that he understood and next time be sure to buy 2 adult tickets! Muvico DOES NOT state the age
requirements on their web site

If they did I would of realized that my child who is 13 was over their 12
year old age requirement and could of purchased the correct tickets!
Now the really funny part is that I run a business that excepts credit
cards and it actually cost Muvico money to process the second transaction
probably about $.75 cents so in the long run they received an extra $.25
cents from me and made a VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER that WILL NOT RETURN to
their theater EVER! Not that they care anyway but it still needs to
be known! |

DO ME A FAVOR AND CALL THEM or
SEND THEM AN EMAIL AND TELL THEM HOW YOU DO NOT APPROVE OF HOW
THEY TREAT THEIR PATRONS!
MAYBE IF WE ALL BAND TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE ON HOW PEOPLE ARE
TREATED!
PS.....While you are there tell them we are TIRED of paying for a movie
ticket and then watching commercials for Coke, Nike and other products!
I watch enough of them at home I should NOT have to watch them in a theater
that I paid to see a movie. The movie trailers are fine as we expect those
BUT over the past few years they have started adding these commercials in
and now it is up to 2-3 in the very beginning! PUT THEM AT THE END OF THE
MOVIE! or give us a break on the movie prices since you are making
millions of dollars for us watching these ads! |
